Description

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations for Dribbble and it's subsidiaries, by controlling and verifying our financial transactions and performing general cash management. As a member of our finance operations team and reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, and preparing month-end close procedures. In this role, you'll combine your excellent analytical skills with your thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all our accounting tasks and processes.

Please note this is a ~16 month contract position to cover a parental leave, with the option to extend to full-time after contract completion.
 

As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities here will include:

  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Assisting in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
  • Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
  • Entering accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Sending invoices and Accounts receivable collection
  • Doing weekly accounts receivable updates and customer follow up
  • Performing semi-monthly credit card reconciliations
  • Running semi-monthly Canadian and US payroll
  • Doing monthly prepaid expense and unearned revenue reconciliations
  • Doing the month end close package
  • Doing the month end reporting package
  • Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner

 

Requirements

We believe it's important for you to have:

  • Relevant experience in a similar role: You have at least two years experience as a CPA, along with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and an in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Stellar communication skills: You speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
  • A proven ability to solve problems and make thoughtful decisions: You can assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization. You can identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
  • A love of organization: You can gracefully handle multiple projects at once. You set priorities, regularly report on and monitor progress towards goals, and meticulously track details, data, information and activities.
  • Remote work experience: You've worked with remote teams and can communicate effectively in a remote environment
  • Experience with US corporate and state tax: While not required, this would be a huge plus!
