How Bright Cellars Works Our members join Bright Cellars by taking a 7 question-quiz to share their taste preferences. The Bright Points learning algorithm evaluates these preferences to determine the best wine matches for each member’s taste. Each month, members receive four or six unique bottles in the mail, which they are then able to rate and provide personalized feedback on their profile. Similar to Netflix’s collaborative filtering algorithm, Bright Cellars’s algorithm uses this feedback to improve members’ monthly matches going forward. 

 

A Little About This Role

We’re looking for a growth marketing leader to join our team. In this role, you will lead growth marketing, focusing on the channels, content, audiences and experiences that will fuel our subscription and non-subscription business lines. 

 As the leader of a key function you will be responsible for the strategic plan and daily operation of growth marketing. Today this includes performance oriented projects and channels (ex: Paid Facebook/IG, Google Search, YouTube, CTV, Affiliate, Direct Mail, etc.), but it will evolve further as we identify opportunities for expansion. This function works alongside the Brand, Lifecycle, Creative and Strategy functions to deliver our mission and holistic marketing strategy.  

The right person for this role has hands-on experience with performance marketing platforms and channels, well honed abilities in the application of marketing technology and data, as well as strong analytical skills. This person must be driven by business results, understand how to develop individuals, manage a team, and collaborate with other functions to realize our growth aspirations. A dash of right-brained creativity is also essential, complementing the objective science that guides the day-to-day business. This role reports into the Chief Marketing Officer.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Bright Cellar’s Growth Marketing function to drive our customer acquisition and revenue growth, while supporting our Marketing strategy and plan
  • Develop a team and operation that balances short, mid and long-term growth
  • Establish acquisition and revenue goals, forecasts, and KPIs for all growth marketing activity
  • Actively manage Paid Social, SEM, CTV, Video, Direct Mail and other growth channels and strategic projects
  • Develop a backlog of experiments to continuously release data-driven, rigorous tests to build the growth function in an iterative manner
  • Work closely with the Creative function to improve to realize continuous, iterative content release that fuels our growth efforts
  • Collaborate with key internal partners such as Product, Engineering and Operations to elevate the customer experience and business
  • Inspire the people around you to aim high, produce great work, and bring forward new ideas

 

Experience We're Looking For:

  • You have a track record of scaling acquisition programs based on objective criteria (CAC, LTV, # of customers, ARPU)
  • You have passion for how things work, an intellectual curiosity that drives you to dig into the details, understand the inner workings and develop scalable solutions
  • You understand how to motivate people and orchestrate varied functions, including stakeholders, for optimal impact
  • You’ve developed and executed growth oriented go-to-market plans for new product lines and/or product repositioning
  • 10+ years in growth/performance marketing
  • 7+ years experience developing iterative tests and testing frameworks that enable scale
  • 7+ years experience working with core stakeholders in Finance, Product, and Data/Engineering
  • 7+ years experience working with external stakeholders such as Google, Facebook, Agencies, and other brand partners
  • 5+ years experience of building, managing, and mentoring growth teams
  • Experience with customer funnels and how they reflect broader customer lifecycles
  • Hands-on experience prioritizing and experimenting across growth levers such as landing pages, audiences, bidding, account structure, creative and customer funnels 
  • Developing efficient and effective operating frameworks and process
  • Experience with marketing attribution and the common methods of measuring business, channels, and customer experience (ex: traffic, lead collection, conversion events) 
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
  • An ability to quickly identify trends, communicate implications and actions to the organization
  • Negotiation and joint partnership business planning experience 
  • Ability to communicate results to the executive team and the company as a whole
